TERM

The designer submission deadline is July 20th 2024 at 11:59 pm (the Entry Deadline). All entries must be received by the Entry Deadline.

WHO MAY ENTER

Entrants must be at least 18 years of age by October 05th 2024 (Date of Show). Or written permission from guardian if under 18

HOW TO ENTER

To enter electronically, please visit thefashionshowdown.com to register. Once the registration process has been completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.
No mail-in entry is available for this Contest. Each submitted application, in its entirety, must be original material created by but not necessarily manufactured by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that he or she has full power and authority to enter the work, and that the work does not infringe any copyright or violate any other intellectual property rights. Entry does not guarantee contest participation. Contestants will be selected based on Fashion Showdown discretion. All Applicants will be notified and announced by August 1st, 2024.

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS

Contestants are required to create a mood board complete with inspiration of four original designs.
Contestants must submit 180 seconds of music of their choice which will be played during their segment of the fashion show by August 1, 2024 (Houston)
Contestants are required to supply their own four models and hair and makeup.

COMPETITION PRIZES/AWARD

The Winner(s) Fashion Showdown will receive cash and prizes, with a approximate combined retail value of $5000. Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Fashion Showdown. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at Fashion Showdown’s discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of Winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Fashion Showdown to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Prizes/Awards are specified on the landing page for the Fashion Showdown website, and are constantly being updated. Continue to check the site for updates.

JUDGING

Contest consists of your four original designs which you show during the Fashion Showdown runway show. The panel of Judges will each review the mood board you must submit on the day of show.
Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, quality of designs, and styling during the show.
Decisions Fashion Showdown and Judges are final and binding.

ENTRANT LICENSES/RELEASES

If the work contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the work, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the work, any and all releases and consents necessary to present the runway and use of the collection in the manner set forth in these Official Rules without additional compensation. If any person appearing in any work is under the age of majority in their state/province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release. By participating, ALL ENTRANTS grant Fashion Showdown (the administrator) and their designees, licensees or affiliates (the “Authorized Parties”) a nonexclusive, worldwide license, indefinitely, to reproduce, distribute, display and post the entries online so that viewers may view all competing entries. In addition, the FINALISTS grants to the Authorized Parties a license for use of his/her winning entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known, including but not limited to, print or digital publication showcasing the winners, and promotions related to the contest for an unlimited time. Authorized Parties will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.

CONDITIONS

This Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Certain restrictions may apply. Entries void if Fashion Showdown (the administrator) determines the entry to not be an original, or if the entries are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft.
Participants also agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules; (b) that the decisions of the Judges are final on all matters relating to the Contest; and (c) if he/she wins that Fashion Showdown may use each winner’s name, work, likeness, and/or voice in any publicity or advertising relating to the Contest or future promotions without compensation or approval. All federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. In the event that the selected winner of the prize is ineligible or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and Fashion Showdown, in their sole discretion, may choose whether to award the prize to another entrant.

RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST

If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, trojan horses, denial of service attacks, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Fashion Showdown (the administrator) that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Fashion Showdown reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest. If Fashion Showdown elects to cancel or terminate the Contest, Fashion Showdown will not retain any rights to the submitted work.
